Tweed Striders Membership : Fitness, Fun and Friendship
The only requirement of membership of Tweed Striders is that you are able to run 5k (3 miles) without stopping - pace is not an issue. This does not apply, obviously, if you are signing up for a walk-jog course !
The membership year runs from 1 February to 31 January and cost is as follows :
Tweed Striders Membership @ £20 pa (minimum age is 16 years)
Tweed Tri / Eye Run / Berwick Wheelers Associate Membership @ £15 pa (minimum age is 16 years); Tweed Striders members can join Berwick Wheelers at a discounted rate of £12 (from £16), Eye Run at £15 (from £20) and Tweed Tri at £15 (from £24).
The club also accepts junior runners (minimum age is 12 years) but only at the Tuesday sessions and provided they run with a parent; Junior Membership costs £15 pa.
If you require membership of England Athletics, you can add this on when you join Tweed Striders for an additional £14 pa (the current cost of England Athletics membership).

However, we appreciate that joining is a big commitment so we offer prospective members a trial period whereby you pay £1 per week for training for a few weeks. Thereafter, assuming we are a “good fit”, we ask that you then join the club - it obviously works out much cheaper to take out membership than to pay £1 per week on an on-going basis.
Benefits of Membership ...
Our motto is Fitness, Fun and Friendship and we foster this ethos through a variety of social events. In the spring and summer months we organise a monthly Breakfast Run. This rotates round the Eastern Borders and North Northumberland and takes place, generally, on the first Sunday of the month (April to September) at a different venue each time; it is very much a social run followed, as it is, by coffee and bacon rolls at a local hostelry. In addition every September we hold a Summer Social at which we award club trophies and prizes and enjoy each other's company over a buffet and a few drinks - this is definitely a family affair as members are encouraged to bring their partner and children. Finally, in December we have a club Christmas meal-out. Other ad hoc social events are also organised from time-to-time, for example after the cross-country season. Members are also welcome to join RunDuns and Eye Run at their sessions – please ask Caroline for details.
Over and above training, the coaching team can assist with training plans plus provide advice relating to running, nutrition, injury prevention etc – speak to Caroline in the first instance.
